A catch-all e-mailbox is one that captures all the email messages sent to invalid email addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody mistypes it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Only one mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and in this way you will never miss messages because the other side has an obsolete email address or has made a mistake. The downside of configuring a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving plenty of junk email messages, but this problem can be resolved by using anti-spam filtering software. It is also essential to bear in mind that a mailbox with an active catch-all functionality cannot redirect inbound emails to a third-party address.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Web Hosting
In case you host a domain name on our cloud hosting platform and you have a shared web hosting account, you’ll be able to activate the catch-all feature for any e-mailbox that you create under the domain name. The Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section includes quite a few features, but it is very easy to work with, so creating a catch-all mailbox takes only one single mouse click. All the email addresses that you have will be shown in this section in alphabetical order and you’ll only need to click on the "Catch-all" button associated with the particular email address. Our system will warn you if there’s already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain name or if the one that you want to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either turn off the latter feature or pick some other mailbox. Deactivating the catch-all option is just as easy and takes one more click on the very same button.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
A catch-all address can be set up with a few clicks of the mouse in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated hosting plan with our company. The semi-dedicated account will be administered through our custom-created Hepsia Control Panel and you will be able to set up mailboxes with any domain name registered there. To activate the catch-all functionality for a mailbox, you will need to click on the logo with the same name, which will be next to each email address. Deactivating this functionality can be done in the same fashion and will not take more than a click either. If the catch-all functionality has already been activated for a specific domain name, you’ll get a notification. The same is valid if the mailbox that you wish to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never alter or disable anything automatically.
